The Day After...

Morning....Thank God the waiting has ended.

When we were up on the roof waiting to be rescued, my phone kept on ringing. I know it's my husband, calling to check on us. My cellphone is "half alive".... It rings but the screen is black. When we waded through the flood I had put it in the pocket of my jogging pants..... so I used my daughter's phone, which she kept inside a wallet in her backpack to contact my husband who had already arrived in Cagayan de Oro from Iligan City and informed him not to come home any more because Balulang is flooded....

The morning after... we returned to our house Leo arrived home at 630 am having walked from Macanhan to Balulang since no 4-wheeled vehicles can proceed to our place passing through this route. He brought some water and food for us. Around 730 am, my in-laws, Bebet, Ida, Q and Toto arrived. Thanks to the Lord Almighty, they were in Cagayan de Oro for whatever reason they were here. Q used his taxi to transport them to our barangay and they traveled at a longer route, along the Roa logging road. With their help we removed the 6 inch mud from the floor of our house. Some people from NGCP where my husband works delivered some water which we used to wash away the mud which stuck to our appliances, furniture and other things. It took us until 6 in the evening just to remove the mud from the floor.

The next days Leo and I spent our time there in our house. Sometimes the kids accompanied us.Even at Christmas we were at our house washing everything that had mud on it, cleaning the floor and the walls, repairing the doors and windows....

But we are always thankful to those who in one way or another had helped us face and hurdle this challenge that had befallen us.

TO GOD BE THE GLORY ALWAYS.
